Modified Townie/NPC Names


After getting the same Maxis names over and over, and all the mods I've come across being unrelentingly Anglo-Saxon, I broke down and spent an afternoon combing a dozen different name lists. I took the ones I liked (and even some I didn't) and jammed them all into this mod.

While this list does have a bunch of Anglo-Saxon names, I also threw in Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Indian, Arabic, Hebrew/Biblical, French, Irish, German, Polish, Swedish/Dutch, Italian, Greek--pretty much everything you can possibly think of. You will get some funky combinations with this mod, so if you don't like some of the things you get with the Maxis pool (like Solveig Chin), it probably isn't for you. If you run an extremely multicultural neighborhood like I do, though, or at least enjoy out of the ordinary names, this will be more your speed.

This name list has over 2.5 million possible name combinations. If you get a repeat, I will be surprised. And horrified. Mostly horrified.

Installation Instructions:
Unzip that sucker and stick Live.package anywhere in your Downloads folder. Note that this mod is not compatible with any other name-changing mods. Changing the file name to anything except Live.package will probably cause issues. Leave it as is just to be safe. This will not change your current townie/NPC names, but any time the game generates a new townie/NPC, the name will be plucked from the new list. Works best in clean and spring-fresh neighborhoods. Base game through AL compatible.
